A misfire triggers an electrical storm followed by a wave of uncontrolled actions. A cold sensation spreads through your body like blood running through a vein. An internal fight or flight reaction causes a neurological explosion. Tension and pressure build as you suddenly lose control of muscle function. Teeth grind while a disabling pain stemming from your core stops the world around you. The conscience mind drifts away and your body begins to shake while the brain resets itself.

SEIZE

Shot on 35mm film “Seize” is a project depicting epilepsy from a patients perspective. A contrast of color and black and white representing the severity of a medical condition and the feeling of a differed reality outside of epilepsy. Captivating the feeling of life with epilepsy, the ups and downs of a condition that affects over 65 million people world wide. Public knowledge and understanding of epilepsy lags far behind other neurological conditions. With no cure for epilepsy this is a project to give strength and hope to anyone fighting a battle that can feel hopeless at times as a reminder to keep going, see the bigger picture and never doubt the power of yourself.
